Understanding the local cluster

The village of Dol is characterized by a spontaneous spread of small house volumes that organically shape its layout. Embracing this local pattern, the house is thoughtfully divided into three distinct structures: a living block, a sleeping block, and a pool block. This fragmented organization allows the house to blend seamlessly with the existing village fabric.

Each volume is designed with a pitched roof that respects the local 30-degree slope tradition. However, by using a single-sloped roof rather than the more common double slope, the house takes on a contemporary, minimalist formlike a simple crystal set within the village. Each volume features a single loggia cutout: the sleeping block opens to the northeast-facing garden, while the living block looks out towards the garden with a southeast orientation.

The interior is finished in the same plaster shade as the exterior, creating a cohesive aesthetic. The original stone facade is preserved as an interior feature wall, serving as a visual and spatial divider between the introverted living area and the extroverted dining area. The dining loggia, positioned at the heart of the house, connects all areas and becomes the central hub for social life, where the rhythms of the household come together.
